Seriously need to get better at taking before pictures so you can really get a feel for what it looked like before... I think Al, my father-in-law (with the help of Tyler & Jeff) did a great job building this deck, such a good job, that I have to brag!
If you were one of the lucky ones to know what this spot looked like before, you'd remember how the previous owners thought it would be a good idea to plant a wiry looking bush there, and then throw concrete chunks, red rocks, and an assortment of other rocks as well as paint the concrete border they handmade with the same paint as the pool. It wasn't pretty. Ohh, and then we have a few frequent guest that seemed to think this was as good as spot as any to use as a restroom. (Yes, these are human guests and will remain anonymous, but I'm sure you can guess...)
We're still planning on adding a step up to the deck, and some kind of plant or shrubbary around the bottom to finish it off more. I think there should be a railing or something protecting you from falling off the side, but Ty said if you're that unbalanced (or drunk) you shouldn't be on this deck in the first place. FYI if you fit one of those categories, DO NOT blame us if you fall off. Also, please look past the horrible grass...that was from Gracie and her (acceptable) outdoor restroom use, we've since got her on pee pills so she shouldn't ruin the grass this summer. :) Happy Friday!
