How has a month already passed? I’ll tell you
how, it’s because we’re busy as heck around here:
Tyler
Signed
up for a men’s golf league {basically a great excuse to drink beer and
have time away from screaming children and a honeydo list...} He’s already been
golfing more this season than all of last year (and season doesn't officially
start till next Tuesday). Very stressed and spending too much time with the
yard. He would prefer a well-manicured lawn, however, Gracie keeps
“burning” the lawn and he also doesn't have the time commitment needed for it to
compete with the retired neighbor’s yards.
Katie
Still
training for the ½ marathon. She participated in a 10K in Iowa
City, which she finished 6 minutes slower than last year, which has her
slightly frustrated. The end of April she joined a women’s soccer league,
where she plays one night a week. She is surprised how competitive the
league is and is killing her keeping her on her toes by playing goalie.
Harper
Recently
started coed Tball and absolutely loves it (it has been determined cheerleading
is not her thing). Although, currently her favorite part has been picking
out the perfect outfit for practices. She has
almost completely transitioned out of the “terrible threes” which is pretty
awesome as her parents can only survive with one persistently headstrong little
person at a time.
Miles
His
parents believe he has fully hit the “terrible twos” with full blown flailing,
screaming, crying and kicking. He has even been known to flip chairs and
find things to throw when he’s not getting his way. He has recently
become obsessed with everything “trucks” (tractors), playing animals and cars
and plays for long periods of time independently. He can point a John
Deere or “big truck” (Semi-truck) from a mile away. His love of books continues
to be his number 1 pastime. He recently realized he has a baby sister and
will talk to her in “baby talk” mimicking how others talk to her. He’s
still working on being gentle...
Hazel
Her nighttime sleeping has regressed (she wakes up EVERY night between 12-2 to eat 6 oz). Aside from her late night munchies, she is sleeping 11-12 hours each night. She has become the new record holder for “biggest baby”, with an official weigh-in at the doctor scheduled later this month. No one believes it is even possible for her cheeks to be any bigger or for her to develop any more leg or arm rolls, but she is persistently trying to prove everyone wrong. She has officially has a spot at the dinner table in the high chair, where she currently gets to
Gracie
She
still enjoys training with Katie, but realizes she needs to conserve her energy
a little better now that they’re up running 5+ miles. She recently discovered the invisible fence was only actually turned on for a couple of weeks and has been exploring the neighborhood during the day.
