combating witching hour

I'm not sure how it's already been two months since I last posted...  It seriously seems like time goes in hypermode  lately.  Except for "witching hour", that seems to draaaaaaaaaag out.  Don't know about witching hour? Then you have never lived my friend.  Witching hour consists of all children (sometimes adults too) going batshit crazy during the hours of preparing dinner and finishing baths.  Nothing goes right, everyone is tired, cranky, hungry, annoyed, hyper, etc.  It's an epic shitshow that happens every night and there is no preparing or readying yourself for any of it.

In the summer to combat witching hour we make the kids run hot laps outside to wear them into quietness. #kidding #notkidding  That usually works quite well, it's the cold, winter months that we usually run into trouble.  It's usually too cold and windy to play outside--even in our snow stuff.  There's a reason Tyler is in our neighbor's phone as "Tyler, King of the Highlands".  We're the tallest house on the highest point of our hill.  We get wind, lots of it.

So that was a lot of words to basically say we're really enjoying the warmer streaks and have taken a few hikes to burn off some steam.

Here are a few of our recent adventures:

a great workout carrying 35 lbs around.... :)
