So, I'd say we're due for a family update as well as loads of pictures. Just giving you a fair warning, this will be a lengthy post...
Tyler
All of Ty's free time has been consumed by our jeep, or as the kids refer to it, "Daddy's Monster truck". Did you know we bought a jeep? On a whim we found a jeep on craigslist, we ended up taking the whole family to Iowa City to purchase it one night. We've always wanted a jeep as a third vehicle to drive around for fun, this one needed a little work but we thought it'd be a fun activity to keep us busy in the winter--because you know, having three kids isn't enough... So just out of curiosity Ty posted his truck on craigslist to see if it would generate any hits, the same day a dealership from Wisconsin said he was wiring money to our account and would be picking it up the next day. So just like that our fun jeep became Ty's only mode of transportation. He's enjoyed learning how to be a gearhead. We watch a lot of youtube videos on how to fix it. :)
Katie
She recently cut 10" off of her hair to donate to charity. It has been on her bucket list {not sure how or why} for quite some time and over Thanksgiving break it was finally long enough to cut and donate. She also enjoys old lady soccer league, one night a week she plays soccer. Right now she's in indoor league.
Harper
Harper is not totally convinced her parents know anything about school. She's slowly warming up to the idea that they know their letters and what they're talking about. She can sometimes write her name, but usually enjoys creating her name somewhere between the 20-30 "letters". She continues to enjoy dressing herself in one-of-a-kind ensembles that can never be repeated. Yesterday she requested a minimum of 10 bows in her hair along with piggy tails. She recently realized she can boss her brother around when playing house or Tarzan, which she enjoys thoroughly.
Miles
Miles continues to add about 50 new words to his vocabulary daily and will talk all day everyday just to hear himself talking. He is still obsessed with anything with wheels, but his favorite is combines and trains. He has developed quite a personality with a great sense of humor. He continues to be his daddy's mini, acting and behaving just like him. He has zero interest in being potty-trained and cannot be bribed by anything (literally, NOTHING) to be convinced otherwise. If you even mention the idea of potty or undies he quickly informs you, "it don't work".
Hazel
Hazel will be turning ONE in less than a month, her parents aren't sure how that happened. All of a sudden she started real crawling (no more army crawling) and is pulling herself up onto everything. She continues to be very unsteady on her feet, but likes to pretend she's a regular old pro at walking and standing. One of her favorite activities is to pester her brother. She has really perfected the art of annoying him by either crawling on top of him, bumping heads with him, or pulling his hair. She was recently and abruptly stopped being fed formula {her parents ran out and they decided they were done buying it} and has transitioned pretty easily to cow milk, she does not know her beloved bottle will be quickly removed very shortly...
Gracie
Gracie went to the vet last week and passed with a clean bill of health. She tipped the scale at 81 lbs and the vet said she could stand to lose a pound {yes, one}. She's comfortable being a lb overweight, but would be more than willing to run more,longer and faster than what her current running regimen is. Her and Katie go out about 3 times a week for a 3 mile run, weather permitting. She has recently decided the best place in the house to sleep is at the foot of Harper's bed. Her owners are very happy with this transition and enjoy their bed back. :)
