the good:
Ty got a job at John Deere!
the bad:
it's on nights...
We are very excited that Ty got a job at John Deere. He had been looking for a new job from almost the time he started at MSC. At that job there weren't many opportunities for advancement or chances to broaden his skill sets. A supervisor at John Deere approached me in April and heard that Tyler was looking for a new job, they said if he was anything like me or Jake (Ty's best friend who also works at Deere) that he would do a good job as a Team Leader. So Ty and I made the difficult decision for him to become a contract employee (no benefits and the potential of being "dropped" at anytime). He started May 1st as a contract employee, did a good job, got an interview the end of June and accepted a job last week as a Team Leader for Nights starting next week.
While we know we have a lot on our plates right now (120+ hours a week for both of us, school, and a new baby, and now Ty on nights). We feel it will be challenging, but we look forward to seeing the "next" steps. Right now Ty is working 12 hour days (7am-7pm) with Harper's bedtime being at 7 he no more than gets to change her into her pajamas, read her a book and it's off to bed for her. On nights he will be able to pick her up from daycare around 2 or 3 and spend quality time with her until he goes into work at night. As Team Leaders you all have to do a stint on nights (mine was 4 months), it's just a right of passage in this position, and we keep telling ourselves that it will be over before you know it!
