Tyler
Still a production supervisor at JD and working crazy amounts of hours. Keeps busy at home with Hubby DIY projects and working out to P90X30. He's on a health food kick (I think he just realized how to read food labels) lately and keeps Katie on her toes for cooking healthy recipes. :)
Katie
Started training for the Dam to Dam 1/2 Marathon in Des Moines the end of May. Recently got hooked on essential oils and is busy removing all of the chemical filled products to homemade versions.
Harper
Recently took a cheerleading clinic where her teachers were impressed her attention span lasted all 3 hours. She's not sure if she liked being bossed around that long, so she's still undecided if she wants to proceed with regular classes or not. She goes to daycare/preschool two days a week and absolutely loves it. She has become a little fasionista and enjoys picking out her own outfits--she enjoys mixing patterns, seasons and colors for a one-of-a-kind ensemble. She is the best "little mom" out there and can interpret what Miles is saying and what Hazel's different cries mean.
Miles
His vocabulary has taken off. He enjoys pointing out things he knows the words for (coat, hat, shoes, socks, cup, plate, hair, truck, big truck, etc.). He has started to pair two words together and gets really happy when the rest of the world understands what he's saying (bowl, snack). He recently learned the word outside and wants to go out every time he sees someone use the door. He enjoys seeing his parents struggle to keep a fridge full of fruit and eats ungodly amounts of grapes, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, raspberries and blackberries. His favorite fruit being an apple (it cannot be cut or he will FREAK out), he will eat the ENTIRE thing and hand the stem back to be thrown away.
Hazel
Her entire family is convinced she hated being a newborn. She has become the happiest, laid-back baby. She doesn't cry, she just lets her needs be known with squeals and shrieks. She sleeps through the night about 1-2 times a week, the other times she wakes up STARVING about 2-3 a.m., eats 6 oz and goes straight back to bed. She really likes her sister and can watch her for hours. She thing everyone is just hilarious and smiles all the time. She just found her tongue and stays busy by talking and playing with her tongue.
Gracie
She was recently told by the vet she is 5 lbs overweight. She enjoys training with Katie for the 1/2 marathon, but thinks Katie could put in a little more effort so she is often found pulling Katie along... Her favorite pastime continues to be naps. She's gaining a new appreciation for two of the small humans--she realized Harper will pet her ears and belly if she gets close enough and Miles continues to be her favorite human as he is infamous for dropping food (just not fruit) off his high chair for her.
