We did have some time a couple Saturdays ago to go to a fundraising event for the Ankeny Dog Park. We were babysitting Jake's dog, Sophie so we thought it would be a good idea to go to "Bark 'n Brew". We thought it would be a fenced off area with live music, beer, and the dogs could play and release ALL the pent up energy. Well, we got there and noticed it was a dude with an ipod that loved to hear himself talk and the dogs had to stay on a leash at all times! Well...that doesn't work so well with Gracie, afterall she didn't get the nickname "wild woman" for nothing. She sees another dog and she goes CRAZY! She wants to wrestle, and play, and make stupid chewbacca noises...then she noticed the doggie pool--so she wanted to do all that INSIDE the pool all while being on the leash. This did not end up well. Ty and I both spilled our beers, it was super hot & humid, the leashs were wrapped around our legs...we had enough! We decided to go home, get our doggie pool out, take the leashs off and the let the dogs be stupid, all while drinking our own beer without listening to annoying man talk. We probably won't be going back next year....we did, however, get some good pics of them playing...
